CAMP VICTORY — The Political Department of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) issued an official military statement today, June 22, 2026, accusing the Myingyan District Command, operating under the National Unity Government (NUG), of launching synchronized raids against its permanent bases, arbitrarily detaining its active personnel, and exerting institutional pressure to forcibly evict its units from the operational theater. According to the strategic brief, the escalation commenced on the afternoon of June 21, when approximately 500 troops aligned with the NUG Myingyan District Command systematically surrounded and blockaded multiple PLA tactical bases located within Taungtha Township, concurrently detaining two PLA logistics personnel who were performing duties under the direct authorization of their regional sector.
The PLA command further alleged that earlier today, the NUG-led coalition deployed approximately 60 heavily armed troops utilizing two Faw military transport trucks and one Probox utility vehicle to raid two permanent PLA bases in distinct villages within Myingyan District. During the execution of these raids, NUG district forces reportedly conducted intrusive searches of civilian residences suspected of providing logistical shelter to the PLA, subjected neighboring civilian populations to rigorous tactical interrogation, and abducted the sister of an active PLA combatant under gunpoint. Concurrently, the operational commander of the Myingyan District Command delivered a formal two-point ultimatum to the PLA Taungtha Township unit, strictly demanding the unconditional transfer of all detained military junta informants alongside their seized material assets, and the absolute withdrawal of all active PLA military assets and personnel from the territorial boundaries of Myingyan District.
In its official defense, the PLA Taungtha Township command clarified that it had already surrendered two captured junta informants to the NUG’s local People’s Defense Organization (commonly known as PaKaPha), but noted that subsequent transfers of remaining military spies were heavily delayed because PaKaPha commanders resorted to hostile rhetoric and intimidation tactics instead of standard inter-agency protocol. The General Headquarters of the PLA reaffirmed its overarching institutional commitment to maintaining strategic cooperation with the NUG administration, yet explicitly maintained that it will categorically reject arbitrary armed incursions and forced territorial ejections. The revolutionary communist command concluded its statement by reiterating its permanent willingness to resolve internal revolutionary disputes through peaceful political dialogue, while forcefully declaring that its forces have never violated, and will never breach, inter-revolutionary covenants.
