Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, stated that the revolution is striving to adopt methods that minimize harm to the public while navigating numerous challenges in the fight to uproot the military dictatorship. He delivered these remarks in a speech commemorating the 38th anniversary of the 8888 Uprising on August 8.
The Acting President noted that bringing an end to the military dictatorship requires implementing both a popular mass movement and an armed revolution. As the conflict drags on, the resistance must utilize strategies that ease the burden on civilians despite growing obstacles.
“To completely eradicate the military dictatorship, it is necessary to carry out both a mass popular revolution and an armed struggle. At the same time, we must choose revolutionary tactics that protect the public from harm, working through various challenges,” Acting President Duwa Lashi La said during his address.
Additionally, the NUG Acting President emphasized that as the period of revolution lengthens, the fatigue and hardships endured by the general public cannot be ignored.
