During a speech marking the 5th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Defense Force (PDF), Duwa Lashi La, Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), admitted that the revolution is currently facing a series of military losses and setbacks.
The Acting President noted that while the revolutionary journey has seen significant peaks of success, it is presently grappling with political challenges alongside military retreats.
“At this time, we are facing numerous political challenges, as well as increasingly frequent military losses. I want to emphasize that the nature of revolution involves highs and lows, ups and downs; it is a process where we may take two steps forward and one step back,” the Acting President stated.
He further cautioned in his speech that the objective realities on the ground cannot be ignored, and emphasized the need to remain steadfastly focused on the goal envisioned by the people.
Duwa Lashi La urged PDF comrades—as revolutionaries today and “nation-builders” of the post-revolution era—to strengthen their intellectual and mental resilience for the construction of a new Federal Democratic Union. He also placed heavy emphasis on the necessity of being a disciplined armed force that the public can truly rely upon.
The Acting President added that while the Spring Revolution is characterized by rapid shifts and volatility, the public’s conviction remains as powerful as a rising tide. In his closing remarks, he honored the fallen PDF comrades and reaffirmed the NUG’s commitment to fighting resolutely until the total uprooting of the military dictatorship.
